VALENTINES WEEK

MONDAY
I heard the children had a wonderful day yesterday celebrating Luca's birthday and visiting 8th grade buddies.  Mr Billadeau took some great photos.

TUESDAY
Señor Geffen started our day revisiting colors and numbers and we learned a couple of new words.  One was pelota(ball) and the other was playa(beach).

The class started preparing for Valentine's day.  Putting together our mailboxes was top priority. The mailboxes will be in the classroom for the next few weeks giving us the opportunity to practice making mail for each other.

We read 'Invisible string' by Patrice Karst.  The book talks about an invisible string that links us to family and friends no matter how near or far.

Q: Do you feel a connection with someone that makes a tug in your heart like in the story, The Invisible String?

LUCA: I feel a tug in my heart because this ring has a hole in it that’s connected to my family.

MARGOT: I have a friend I miss at my old school and her name is Annie. But I see her every morning and afternoon at the cub house.

GRACE: I miss two friends at my old school.

LEONARD: My old friend I still feel him in my heart. I don’t remember his name.

VALENTINA: I had a friend that was named Samantha. The connection that means something special.
