STORIES

Señor Geffen taught both classes Spanish as Señora Diaz was out sick.

Mr Billadeau and helpers finished the Apple crisp we started yesterday by mixing the ingredients for the topping.

In Pre-k we sometimes talk about the idea of talking a ball (idea) and passing it to a child or group of children.  They may drop the ball and do something else.  They may take the ball and pass it back to you, or in this case they may run with it.  Today there were a group of children in the house and I knocked on the door and said, "Little pig, little pig let me in."

The children started to act out the three little pigs.  They decided to make masks. Decisions had to be made, on noses, and ears, and how to cut the eyes out.  We had a lot of pigs and one big bad wolf, and a friendly dinosaur that helped protect the pigs.

Transforming into a Rapunzel story, with more than one Rapunzel, and a wedding.

As we had the delicious smell of Apple crisp cooking in the oven I read another Lois Ehlert book called 'Pie in the Sky'.  the story is about watching a tree grow and collecting the cherries in the fall to make a pie.

After P.E. we went for a walk through the lower school.  We peeked into the older children's classrooms and walked through the Library working hard to be quiet and not disturb anyone as we went.

When we returned to the classroom we acted out, the three little pigs story.  We had 8 little pigs. One sales person, who sold the pigs their straw, sticks, and bricks and a couple of audience members. No one wanted to be the big bad wolf. Ms Montheard, came to the rescue and played the part of the wolf.  The children did a great job of listening to each other and saying their part at the right time.

Look forward to seeing what stories happen tomorrow.
