PK and K attended a Marionette show performed by the middle schoolers. They acted out three stories, Stone soup, The Magic Paintbrush and Anansi and the moss covered rock.
Our class had a discussion about predators and prey, what those words mean and which one their animal was, or was it both?
At the end of the morning our 8th grade buddies visited and helped us cut out animal pictures. They could find any animal pictures they liked and cut them out. We will start working on finding pictures of their specific animal as the week progresses and look at ways their animals are the same and different.
QUESTIONS
What animals did you cut out ?
Is your animal a predator, or prey, or both?
TUESDAY 10TH MARCH
Señor Geffen printed out images of our animals and told us their names in Spanish.
Then he read us a book called 'De la cabeza a los pies' (From head to toe) which included some of the animals our class are studying.
The class had fun copying the actions of the animals.
We began work on self portraits in clay today. Reminding the class of the 3 'S' words MS. Lane taught us that help clay pieces stick together, scratch, slip and smush.
Before P.E. we celebrated Valentina's 6th birthday with a delicious treat. It will be a birthday rich week as we have 2 more birthdays to celebrate before Friday.
QUESTIONS
What does scratch, slip and smush mean when using clay?
Can you remember one of the animals from the book in Spanish?
