HAPPY MONDAY!

One of our work choices today was choosing to paint a picture of a fruit or vegetable that you like.

We looked at ground cherries and left them at the snack table.  Friends could decide if they wanted to try one.  Those that did were surprised by their sweetness.

We made a chart to record how we felt about ground cherries.  Here are the results.

The children were excited to be back on this side of the room and use the invention center.  What a creative bunch we have,  all dependently making their projects.

Then the fun really begins. Playing with our creations.

After cleaning up  we read 'Tops and bottoms'.  A story about a hare that tricks a lazy bear. The book shows us vegetables that grow underground, and above ground.

At the end of the morning we went on a hike.  We found leaves were starting to change color as well as helicopter seeds from the maple trees.  We threw them in the air and watched as they twirled down to the ground.

Trying to catch the helicopter seeds and stop them from landing on their heads.

Friends noticed their shadows on the grass and started playing a game of shadow tag.

We checked out the soccer field.  Everyone ran from one goalpost to the other and back.  That is a long run especially on a hot day.

We  cooled down in the shade of the trees while playing on the middle schoolers playground. This A-frame is a lot bigger than the one on  the lower school playground.  A few friends were excited about the challenge.

A drink of water from the fountain helped keep our friends going until lunch time.

QUESTIONS
