SORTING KEYS

On Tuesdays our workchoice time seems very short.  Our Specials today were Spanish and P.E.  Señor Geffen introduced 4 new colors, cafe, negro, blanco and morado.  At  work choice time we introduced 2 new games, Slamwich (one of my all time favorite card games) and Q-bitz.

Continuing our work on sorting I challenged each of the children to come over to the large art table and work on sorting keys by attributes.

Noticing the differences is always easier than identifying things that make them the same.

Some of the children look at the color of the keys.  Others look at the shape at the top of the key or the hole in the key.

We read 2 books today.  One was 'One' by  Kathryn Otoshi    and the other was 'A color of his own' by Leo Lionni.  Both books deal with colors and friendship.

QUESTIONS

What colors do you remember in Spanish?
How do you play Slamwich?
How did you choose to sort the keys?
Which book did you prefer and why?
