If you go onto Seesaw you will see an uploaded video of the game.
During work choice time we challenged the children to make still-life paintings of a fruit or vegetable that we bought at the Farmer's Market.
We looked closely at a piece of corn and I demonstrated how to use a marker to draw the shape I saw. Each child had a chance to study and draw a fruit or vegetable of their choice.
Mixing colors was so popular that some friends decided to do multiple drawings.
Furthering our look at fruits and vegetables we introduced two board games to the class, called 'Harvest Time' and 'Stone soup'.
We read 'Stone soup' by Heather Forest, Illustrator Susan Gaber. The story is about two travellers that ask villagers for some food, but no one will share. They tell the villagers they will make their magical stone soup and everyone will be able to have some.
QUESTIONS
What new games did you learn to play?
What fruits or vegetables did you draw and paint?
What was magical about the stone soup?

This afternoon the children cooked the corn and then had the option of eating it.
Luca's face says it all.
