Construction work continues to be a popular choice. Fang and Austin worked on a large building while, Leonard, Luca, and Nolan started work on the other loft. Fang, Austin and Ike joined later on.
Making pictures using shapes was another option. We will continue looking at shapes over the next couple of weeks. So far we have looked at hexagons, trapezoids, rhombuses (or rhombi), triangles and squares.
The request for the whiteboard today was stars. I am impressed with how well they stay within the lines, which can be tricky when you are coloring in on a white board instead of paper.
Solveig, Margot, Grace, Evy and Beatrix had worked together on a production of Baby shark. The girls sold tickets and set up chairs for the audience. If you are wondering why Beatrix is sitting down, she broke her foot a while back, she informed me she was the judge, and would tell them when to 'cut' (stop)
After, we read 'The three little Dassies' by Jan Brett. The story is set in Namibia, in Africa and follows the same plot line as the 3 little pigs, but there are many differences.
After P.E. we surprised the class by taking them to the Head of schools office, it is the best place to see all the construction work going on at the front of the school.
We discussed how this will be the main entrance to the lower and middle school. The class watched the construction workers and noted what they were wearing and doing.
It will hopefully fuel more ideas for the construction workers in class tomorrow.
QUESTIONS
What was big and bad in the Three little Dassies story, and what happened to him?
How did you get to the Head of Schools office?
