We started our morning off with our first Specialist, Señor Geffen. In Spanish class we played a snowman making game. Señor Geffen rolled the dice telling us what part of the snowman or what article of clothing we needed to draw.
It is fun to see how many different types of snowmen you get when you are all receiving the same instructions.
Then we were joined by Ms. Lane for Art class, our second 'Specialist'. She brought a 25lb bag of clay and showed us how she used wire to cut it into small pieces.
MS. LANE: "Can anyone tell me what this is?"
LEONARD: "Play dough."
ELLA: "Chocolate."
BEATRIX: "Clay."
LUCA: "Clay is something you make and it dries. The tool makes it flat."
MS LANE: "What can you use to break it apart if you don't have wire?"
BEATRIX: "Use your hands."
GRACE: "Break it"
IKE: "Karate chop"
Ms Lane showed us how she twisted it with her hands to make smaller balls.
Then everyone had a turn of working with the clay using just their hands to manipulate the material.

We created a letter and card making station in the writing center. Friends used stickers for postage stamps and we used stamp pads to mark the mail so it could be delivered. Of course you have to remember to write the name of the person it is going to on the envelope, otherwise it can get confusing.
At the end of the morning we did not read a story instead we acted out 2 of our plays. One by Solveig called The 3 little fairies and the big bad princess. The other by Fang called "The 3 little dinosaurs and the big bad Gigantosaurus."

Our third special experience was having a large amount of time to play in the woods. The children had so much fun exploring and climbing.
Perfect setting for a photo shoot. Ruby and Valentina kept swapping places one would blow a kiss and pose while the other would pretend to take a picture.
Luca and Ella were pretending they were stuck on the tree and needed Help.
PHEW! They were rescued by a team of helpers.
Oh No we are stuck again "HELP. And again, and again. This game turned out to be a lot of fun for everyone in involved.
In Spanish class what items of clothing did you add to your snowman ?
What did you create with the clay?
What did you find in the woods?
