OUR FACES

Today Margot was chosen as photographer of the day with the task of taking pictures of friends EYES.  Tomorrow we will see if friends can identify each other and discuss what was easy or hard about identifying the person. Talking about the factors that helped them, like the color or shape etc.
PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE DAY

The self-identity work we do is a whole year project.  At the beginning of the year we shared our family photos, our likes and dislikes. Looking at how we are the same and different we discussed our feelings and how our actions affect our friends and community. Our next step is self portraits, looking closely at our face and trying to recreate what we see using different materials.

The students will have lots of practice at creating their face. Starting with a playdough version. Playdough is very soft and easy to manipulate making it the ideal place to start. Eventually they will end with a permanent clay version to bring home.

Valentina decided she wanted to pose for a picture with her play-dough self-portrait and everyone else at the table decided that was a good idea.

When all of the students have completed their playdough self-portrait I will post them on Seesaw.

No book today, instead we celebrated Evy's 5th birthday.

QUESTIONS
What shape are your eyes?
What wish did you give Evy for her birthday?
What treat did you get during Evy's birthday celebration?
