HAPPY 2020

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope everyone had a wonderful break.  The children transitioned back to school easily.  We started our first day back with music and learned a few new songs.  One of them was a version of 'The Incy wincy spider' that I had never heard before called 'The Minnesota spider'?

Thank you to Valentina's family for sharing Rosca De Reyes with us and bringing in lots of delicious bread. See the link for more information about Rosca De Reyes https://blog.mexgrocer.com/rosca-de-reyes-mexican-tradition/

A lot of friends were eager to try it and some wondered when they could have a second piece.   Thumbs up!

This week we will start looking at snowflakes.  Students were working on creating a snowflake using the beads and looking at the symmetry involved.

Everyone came over and drew a picture of one thing they did over winter break.

Lots of conversations and detailed drawings.

At the end of the morning friends were very interested to learn more about Ella.  We looked at her family photo.  Ella told us about her family including her new baby sister, Cali who was born on Christmas Day.  I do have a picture of her, she is beautiful, and we will post it next to Ella's family photo.

Here are the questions we asked Ella

Grace: What is your favorite candy?
Ella: Cotton Candy

Nolan: What is your favorite fruit?

Ella:Watermelon

Evy: What is your favorite vegetable?

Ella: Carrots

Grace: What is your favorite shape?

Ella: Triangle

Ms. Small: What is your favorite movie?

Ella: The Descendants

Ike: What is your favorite leaf?
Ella: Purple leaf

Grace: What is your favorite animal?
